The Black Company by Glen Cook
I am currently enjoying reading The Black Company by Glen Cook.
The book describes a fantasy saga unlike any other I've encountered in fantasy literature. It centers on a group of mercanaries, swords for hire, called the Black Company. They are no knights in shining armour, nor damsels in distress. The plot has a very dark undercurrent - which made it quite a refreshing change from the usual nursey ryhme style fantasy. This book is definitely dark fantasy. Whether or not this is your cup of tea, give it a try! |
