Upgrade to 7.x now??
I've been waiting for Calibre 7.x to mellow a bit before upgrading my Windows XP Pro with Sony 505.
Is now a good (read: safe) time/version to upgrade from 6.x to 7.x? Thanks! |

If you are in no hurry, a few last known bugs will be ironed out in 0.7.3. Note that the version number in Calibre is not yet up to version 1 - it's still in version 0 and is very much an active work in progress, with changes being made almost every day. That said, there is no reason to think you will be risking anything if you upgrade now. If you want any of the newer features, and there are a lot of them, I'd upgrade. You should always have a backup either way. |

Well I'm running 0.7.2 with win xp pro sr3 & my lovely 505 and the only problem I've encountered is a very minor issue with multiple selection of metadata editing (fixed in 0.7.3). At worst, if you wait until 0.7.3 you'll only have to defer your gratification for a very few days!

What would be the most compelling reasons to upgrade though?
I'm still using v0.6x, and am quite happy with it. |

I am a very basic Calibre user...only using Calibre to add books to my 505. I may take your advice and just stick with 6.x (even though I normally prefer to stay up to date with software packages). |
