Cybook & Linux...SDK?

I'm wondering how open the cybook will be to 3rd party developers. I love the iLiad for it's large display, wacom touchscreen, and most of all, it's open operating system. With enough work, I can run just about any linux application on the iLiad. While I know that without a touch scree, the Cybook will have a much more limited capacity, I still think that there could be potential. I'd love to have the format support of something like FBReader, with the battery life of the Sony reader.

Since you already have the iLiad, I'd wait for the version of the Gen3 that has the even newer screen that has 16 shades of gray once the controller is available to support it.

But when I want to just read, I'd like to just pick up the book, read, and put it down when I like without having to worry about the battery. This is the only time I'm envious of the Sony Reader. I hope the Cybook Gen3 has the same ability.

The iLiad is a great power tool, but sometimes you just need a screwdriver.

3rd party developers support would be nice although the lack of networking and touch screen will limit the type of software that could be ported.

Support for additional ebook/image formats is one of the best reasons to enable such a thing on the device.

From the way Bookeen speaks up here i doubt that they will try a GPL violation. I expect a real SDK to show up later for the simple reason that iRex has shown how long it takes to get all the work done.
