An other idea... Don't rush for it, I mean put it on the backburner for a while.
In the Hybrid display mode, when you browse in the hierachy, at any point if you click on a post, it brings you to it ... but only it. I would be nice if it brought you to it but with all the others around it too, just like a link in a long Wiki page for example. That would give an other dimension of browsing that is quicker than scrolling. PS. An other helpful tool idea. The blue menu bar could follow you everywhere you go and stay just at the top of your screen or one button called 'Top' could do the same and follow you. Once you click on it, it brings you to the blue menu bar at the top. I imagine those would entail heavy programming, sorry bout that! Last edited by yvanleterrible; 06-04-2007 at 11:26 AM. |

Just gave your makeover a mention on Palm Addict. Hopefully it will bring you some new traffic.

Thanks Paul for the mentioning, this is very kind of you!
And thanks to everyone for your patience. Sure changes are not always for the better, and we all have to learn. But I am willing to learn and I will always listen to you guys to make the best of MobileRead So for a starter, our traditional postbit is back, where the user info is shown off to the left and the actual postings to the right. A lot of you guys preferred this way (and honestly, I do prefer it too ). Should you prefer the newer look that we installed yesterday, you can go to your control panel options and change "Postbit Style" back to "modern". More changes in the next few days (promised). |

It's already smokin', Alex. Great work, and thank you!
I especially like the fact that it doesn't mark threads as read unless I actually read them, makes it much easier to pick up reading new posts when I get interrupted before I get done going through them all. |

None of the avantgo channels are working for me anymore. I grab a few of them on a daily basis and will miss them if they are removed (esp. boingboing).

The mobile version of mobile read (www.mobileread.com/mobile) is dead. Was this intentional? I used to read it all the time on my Treo...
Thanks for the great site! |

Alex is actually a super-secret machine that powers the interwebs.
Don't tell anyone though. It's our little secret. |

I really love the traditional style post that you returned, and even more with the new upgraded look. It's very nice, and the old style makes me feel so much more at home! Everyone should stand up and cheer for Alex, with all the amazing work he does. You'd think he was a professional web master. He's definitely an incredible guy. Unless you know, as Sunshine pointed out, that "Alex is actually a super-secret machine that powers the interwebs."

You honor me, thanks so much!
Hey, oh my, the liquid design is back as well. If you prefer it over the fixed layout, go to your Control Panel Options and change the Forum Skin under Miscellaneous Options. |

One other thing that seems not to be there any more are the RSS feeds for a single forum. Before you could create an RSS feed for every sub-forum you wanted, for example the Irex Iliad with all its sub-forums. That would be nice again... I just can't seem to find it anymore.
