You dont need to switch to xorg just set the env var to tell qt to use x11 instead of wayland. And wayland has been *full* of bugs for years now. You presumably have barely used calibre if you think wayland had no issues.

OK, I was able to try @kovidgoyal's suggestion right now, and 7.18 does indeed work with this setting:

It is strange that it worked great for me under Wayland through 7.16, and only broke with 7.17. I guess this solves the issue for me. Thank you! |

If anyone is running Wayland and cannot get calibre 7.17 or later to work properly, see post #20 in this thread for a solution.
Another solution is to uninstall Wayland. |

Unfortunately there is no such thing as "Wayland". What matters is the actual wayland compositor you are running. There are dozens of them and different ones have different bugs.

Are you using Linux?

If you're not using Linux with (a) Wayland compositor then this is irrelevant to you. |

Again, this suggests that QT 6.7.2 is not compatible with your video driver. Have you checked for a new driver update? QT has been requiring video driver updates for several versions now.
Using Windows, you could try adding environmental variable such as QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS --disable-gpu QT_OPENGL software |
