You should be able to get help once your post is visible, but I'd ask at GitHub too - they can be more detailed over there (MobileRead rules don't really allow for detailed descriptions of DRM removal, even though there are many long posts on the subject here). |

What you need to do is to unzip the DeDRM file you downloaded and install the DeDRM.zip file inside it.

Thank you. I finally figured out to select the plugin.zip and not the tools.zip.

I just checked and between Amazon and Kobo I have purchased around 55 ebooks from May 1st. Of those ebooks 1 from Amazon and 7 from Kobo had DRM.
I have also purchased the monthly bundles from Baen . So unless Amazon changes/does away with download for usb I not too worried for the time being. bernie P.S. It takes a lot longer to write a post when the cat is adding to and editing it in real time for you. |

I've updated the Kindle for PC section in the OP with a link to the dedicated thread in the calibre subforum.

Hi, quick question:
Kindle for PC - Download and Transfer Does anyone know if they've removed the "Download and transfer" option if one possess only a Kindle PaperWhithe 12th gen? I had briefly a 11th gen last year and it worked flawlessly. But now when I want to download the ebook file, it shows that either I have to buy a Kindle (which I have and it's registered properly) or I have to use the Kindle app. Thanks in advance for you answers |

And I have unregistered an re-registered the Kindle as well. Same, everything works great except the Download and Trasfer. It's quite frustrating not being able to access a functionnality you thought available |

Nope. I don't have any Kindle unlimited book. (those I know are impossible to download and transfer)
It's the brand new Kindle PaperWhite Signature Edition 12th gen. Basically, it's the 11th gen + 1 but I don't know what's under the hood except what's been announced. What worries me is this message : "You have no compatible devices registered for this content. Buy a Kindle or get thefree Kindle reading application." when it click the download and transfer button. Especially the "You have no compatible devices registered for this content." |
