Research: Have you highlighted something on your Kindle and never read it again?
Have you highlighted something on your Kindle and never read what you highlighted again? Have you ever wondered if there'd be a more self-expressive way to consume your Kindle highlights?
Researchers at Simon Fraser University’s Homeware Lab are looking for people to participate in a research study exploring a new generative AI-based web application, called Quologue, which they have created in their lab. Quologue lets you use your e-book highlights as materials for you to have a continuous dialogue with your e-book highlights archive, which evolves with you over time. The goal of the study is to gain a better understanding of how Quologue can be used to help people reconnect with their digital traces on e-books. We are recruiting 20 participants located anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Participants must be Kindle users with more than 100 highlights saved on their Kindle device. They must be able to export and download their “My Clippings.txt” file. (If you have a Kindle device, you would be able to download your “My Clippings.txt” file.) They must also have a Google account they can use to log into Quologue. This is an 8-week study where you interact with the app once a week and share your experiences over three zoom interviews, and you will be compensated with CA$ 50 at the end of the study. If you would like to participate, please take this 5-min questionnaire: https://forms.gle/qMPLVKyZVuTyoPZX6. You would need your "My Clippings.txt" file to fill out the questionnaire. |
