@zm, are you preventing your kids from using a cell phone or a tablet since the brightness can be turned up and it's always back lit with no way to turn it off?

There is a solution that works. Go to Settings > Reading settings and uncheck Swipe left edge to adjust brightness. When the light is off on a Kobo, it's truly off. Just don't turn on the light. |

Thank you! My Kobo Libra will be delivered today so that's very useful info. I'm happy to hear that the light can be permanently turned off this way.
