Footnotes do not work (Kobo Clara HD)

In an epub with many footnotes, footnotes do not work at all. When the number is tapped, either nothing happens or a page before the current is show. Reading the same epub in Calibre footnotes are OK. Software version ia 4.24.15676 of 24-09-20.

Is this a known error? Is there a solution / workaround?

Kobo handles Epub files with notes very poorly: when You touch the note You should go to the page of the note but often the touch area of the note is very little so You go instead to the previous or the next page or remain where You are.

The simpler solution is to convert in Kepub that handles the notes much better.

Thanks! After installing the kepub output plugin in Calibre, I added the kepub'd book to the reader. And now it really makes a big difference!
