I don't understand the rationale of people that have nice, but fragile electronic devices like phones and tablet and don't have them in cases. Yes, they look cool, but they're fragile and most humans are, well, clumsy, at least some of the time. Why do people feel it necessary to take a chance?
There is nothing indestructible, period. The cases are typically plastic, but even if they're aluminum, they can get scratched up and dented and even the best gorilla glass screen can be broken under the right circumstances. Smarten up people. Put your nice, fragile electronics in cases. Protect them. |

So I see no reason not to suggest the Kobo Forma. Kindles (with glass screens) are just as likely to break the same way in the same situation. That means Kindles (with glass screens) can break when stressed in the bag as the Kobo was. |

So this isnt the same like normal monitors? Because normal monitor is perfectly fine if you slam it (havent tried but I think they are as durable as they should be) and considering the price, the ereaders should be much cheaper if they break just by touch or putting it down on table.

Most Readers have a glass backed screen and those can break if the Reader is twisted, stressed, dropped, or slammed. But the Kobo Forma has a plastic backed screen so it can take more stress before it breaks. It's one of the most durable Readers out there because of the screen. But even with the plastic backed screen, you have to treat it properly. But the Forma ill not break in cases where someone puts a Reader in their carry bag and take it out ad wonder why it broke. It broke because it has a glass backed screen and too much stress or twisting was applied to it in the bag. The same thing can happen to Kindle, Kobo, nook, and any other Reader with a glass backed screen. |

After reading this thread, I found this https://medium.com/@OnyxBoox/how-muc...g-9a7a76b30e2c. According to this article the following Onyx Boox models have a mobius screen which is not based on glass and should therefore be less fragile than those with a glass based screen: Poke Pro, Nova, Note, Max2, Max2 Pro
