Goal: read from my TBR
My top goal for 2018: read 50 books from a 100 book list of my TBRs (or physical TBRs).
Primary goals:
I'm going to track my reading, but don't have a goal for number or page count. Last year unexpectedly set a substantial new high, and I will be quite content to read less this year. Spoiler:
2018 Popsugar and Book Riot Read Harder challenges, with no "reloads" - slot a book and leave it there, but just for interest in what gets covered along the way. Spoiler:
Series reads: In Death and A Free Man of Color Spoiler:
Continue tracking spending/acquisitions/use of subscription services. Spoiler:
Continue to tracking magazine and anthology reading. Spoiler:
Evaluate (read or DNF) freebies and boost any worthwhile finds. Spoiler:
Read those physical TBRs, already. Spoiler:

Goal: 45 books in 2018
My overall goal for 2018 is to read 62* books. Although that'll be a bit of stretch since this year (2017) I read only 31. I manage 38 in 2016 which is my highest since I've tracked these things.
I want to participate in the New Leaf Book club so the first book I read each month should be that book. My second will be something off my TBR, specifically from my pile of "Started not reading" tagged books. If there's a third or fourth then I'll either read from my TBR generally, perhaps catch up on a series, or just something new that catches my eye. Books January - 3 books Spoiler:
February - 6 books Spoiler:
March - 12 books Spoiler:
April - 12 books Spoiler:
May - 7 books Spoiler:
June - 4 books Spoiler:
July - 0 books August - 6 books Spoiler:
September - 1 book Spoiler:
October - 2 books Spoiler:
November - 6 books Spoiler:
December 6 books Spoiler:
total - 65 books (*originally 45, then I upped it to 80, then back down to 60. And finally changed it to 62 because that's 2 x 31, last year's total) Last edited by latepaul; 12-30-2018 at 09:28 PM. Reason: Finished a book |

Usual rather vague goals: more non-fiction, more "classics" in literature. But also a bit more specific, including Victorian novels & Russian literature, Gene Wolfe's "Sun" cycles. Also Proust.

52 Week Reading Challenge 2018
Here is my challenge for the year. Yes, I can cheat by using one book for more than one category but until I hit to goal, I think this is ALREADY challenging enough as it is. I adapted this from a forum I had come across on Fantasy/Sci-Fi but wanted to expand it to things I don't normally read.
Sadly, I am not doing very well, but the more places I put it, the better reminders I will have to GET IT DONE! 52 Week Reading Challenge 2018 (one for each week of the year): 1. A book by your favorite author. 2. A book by an author whose work you haven't read previously. The Scarlet Pimpernil by Emma Orczy. 3. A book released in the year you were born. 4.
