I wonder if there is any hope that Amazon might decide to update the software on original Kindles with the new UI. It looks a bit cleaner that the original UI.

I hope so. I'm wondering if 1.2 might be a transition firmware. I like the new progress bar style.

I'm not sure if that will work. Currently calling up the sort menu, url menu, and other stuff is done by scrolling the cursor to the top row. The menu is called up by having the cursor at the bottom row.

It looks like the Kindle 2 moves the batter/online indicator to the top right... also the bottom right now has a number there, I am guessing it is the final location. This can be done on the two because there is now a menu button.

Although I do like the graphic progress bar and the percentage indicator much better than the dot indicator bar on the Kindle1.

I zoomed in and there are "+" and "-" symbols on it. I think that's volume control. I'd rather it be an SD slot.

If you look at picture 2, you'll see a + and -. It is probably the volume control.

Man, it just looks so awkward to hold, especially if it is going to have a slip on cover.
