Can you use a dictionary in a 3rd party app?

After perusing this forum intensely for the last few weeks, I purchased a Boox Max 2 Pro that arrived yesterday!

One of the use cases for the device is to help me learn German.
My idea was to read the news in German, and when I don't understand a word, highlight the word with a long-press, and lookup the definition in English. For example, on an iphone, I can long-press a word in most/any app and "Look Up" appears as one of the options, which shows me the definition.

*3rd-party apps: Importantly, I want to use this feature while using German news apps, German magazine apps, etc. that I download from Google Play Services.

PDF option: From reading the forums, it seems like there ways to long-press words and pull up different dictionaries (that one can download online) when using various PDF readers.

However, I'm not typically reading PDFs in German, I'd be reading news.
Though there may be workarounds (below), I think that they are too cumbersome to use realistically use while reading in German
- Exporting a news articles to PDFs and opening in a PDF reader and using the PDF reader dictionary feature
- Using a separate dictionary app (might as well have separate dictionary or a second device for that)

If anybody has advice/experience on this topic, it would be _greatly_ appreciated!

P.S. Any advice on using a Boox device for learning foreign language is also welcome (Anki, hand-writing recognition, other apps, etc.)

I use 3rd dictionary - GoldenDict.
I use CoolReader for literature, gReader Pro for news, Instapaper for offline reading.

Reading interesting books in foreign language. My choice for big display - CoolReader(plotn) + GoldenDict. This combo have interesting options for 2 page view - I recommend try check "Minicard" option in Dictionaries settings for CoolReader.

There is also an interesting app for learning words and reading in german. It has cards and an integrated quiz which is a lot of fun. It runs very well if you adjust the contrast accordingly.

Freeware without ads, get it from google play

Thx for the tip! Even has audio. For the record, I had to search the English translation to find the app in Google Play Services.
