Nook Press Expands to UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium |
10:34 AM by DBDigital in E-Book General | News In a email sent out today to all Nook Press (Barnes and Noble's epublishing system) users they announced expansion to UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium:
With the recent announcement that their Nook Windows app was being discontinued, this is surprising and perhaps encouraging showing that the nook is not quite dead yet. But I do find this comment interesting: "... will be able to publish with NOOK Press and reach Barnes & Noble's millions of book-loving customers." Considering they haven't been international before, they don't have millions of customers in these markets yet. |

Barnes and Noble to discontinue Windows App |
11:43 AM by mycurlylocks in E-Book General | News I'm assuming this will only affect their online reader. I don't use Nook for PC anyway. http://247wallst.com/technology-3/20...ook-then-what/ I'm hoping this isn't the end of the Nook. |

Nook ST bites the dust ... but ... |
07:43 PM by MartyTX in E-Book General | News No big surprise and quite possibly already posted elsewhere on MobileRead, but the Nook ST will no longer be produced. I checked the B&N website, and all references to the Nook ST have been expunged. Goodbye old friend ... ReadHere However, I have to admit that I gave up on my Nook ST about a month ago. It still works as "good as ever" ... and that's a dubious compliment. However, my iPad Mini and "Marvelous Marvin" are an unbeatable combination. Reading is more enjoyable, and that's what it's all about. I no longer have to go through my list of "thou shalt not ..." to prevent all the troublesome quirks that can befall a Nook ST (too many to enumerate). So, reading goes on ... |

Humble bundle to expand e-book and audiobook offerings |
06:20 AM by skinmaan in E-Book General | News I came across this today, and thought many of you might find it interesting. It seems (despite how those offerings may have compared to computer game bundles) that Humble Bundle's e-book and audiobook offerings have been considered a success and are looking to continue (or even expand). http://www.teleread.com/drm/humble-b...ook-offerings/ Good news from where I stand. skinmaan |
