What are the differences between this new one and the standard one?
Anybody willing to help with translations here? EDIT: Is it the difference in the e-ink display? Possibly aligned with frame like on Sony DPT-RP1? Last edited by UncleZeno; 08-31-2018 at 07:15 AM. |

Only difference: Note+ with flat screen.
Same price. As far as I know, most Note+ users like it, some don't and switched back to Note. Quote:

Note Lite:
touch screen only, no stylus supported, 100 USD cheaper. Note+ sold in China since 27th August. Note Lite will be available on 5 Sep. Last edited by cqman; 09-05-2018 at 06:02 AM. |

Still no sd-card slot... VERY BAD for heavy readers or users of the kiwix app.
How can Onyx justify such stupid design decisions ? Sd-card slot cost almost nothing... so it is not a cost issue here. Same thing for physical page turn buttons. Boyue Likebook Note hardware is more appealing. Last edited by Antonio7; 09-01-2018 at 09:23 AM. |

The Boyue Likebook Note compares to the Onyx Boox Note as follows: + SD card slot + Frontlight (IMHO pointless feature) + Physical page turn buttons + Less expensive - Battery is only 3500 mAh (IMHO good enough) - RAM is only 1 GB (IMHO no bottleneck) - CPU is just a 1GHZ i.MX6 Sololite ARM Cortex A9 (IMHO good enough for reading) - Included software is mediocre, 3rd party readers and dictionaries are required. - No trustworthy European seller for Boyue devices (Onyx's Booxtor, you are the best!) If the Boox Note would have had an SD card slot i would have preferred it over the Likebook Note in spite of the higher price tag. [ Personal off topic remarks: I don't care about the Android OS, nor web browser, nor any other other bells and whistles which are not directly related to reading. My dream reader would not have any WiFi, nor superfluous front light or audio speakers and thus be much lighter and easier to hold. And the included software would be much better adapted to reading and text handling than the currently lacking state of the art appears to be. ] [EDIT: Could the original poster or one of the moderators please remove that annoyingly large graphic file in this thread's first post? ] |

I was very disappointed
I was waiting for front-lit screen. If they use a glass screen why they don't provide it with the light. I will wait more |

I assume the glass screen would also solve the stylus scratching screen problems of the Note. That alone is a worthy upgrade.

It would be worth the upgrade if your ratio from note-taking to text reading is at least 99:1 . And anyway, you would not need an EPD screen if you do not read on it. Unless, of course, there now exists a glare-proof, reflection-free glass. I need to see it, then I will believe it. |
