Hat das schon jemand getestet?
Man kann für 10 Euronen im Monat, beliebig viele Bücher ausleihen. Bis zu fünf Bücher gleichzeitig! Klinkt verlockend, aber fast zu schön, um war zu sein. |

Ich kenne Skoobe nicht, aber in meiner Bibo kann ich für 10 Euronen im Jahr beliebig viele Bücher ausleihen, und wenn ich will und fündig werde, mehr als fünf gleichzeitig.

Wir reden von eBooks? Du kannst beliebig viele eBooks ausleihen, für 10,- im Jahr??? Keine Wartezeiten, Lizenzprobleme und dann nur alte Schinken? So eine OnLeihe ist mir bis jetzt verborgen geblieben. Wo gibt es dieses Leseparadies und was muss man tun, um in den Club aufgenommen zu werden? |

Von "keine Wartezeiten, Lizenzprobleme und dann nur alte Schinken" hast Du ja im ersten Beitrag nichts gesagt.
Es handelt sich um die ganz normale Berliner Stadtbibliothek bzw. ihr ebook-Angebot. Ich halte trotzdem 10 Euro im Monat nicht unbedingt für ein Schnäppchen für eine Ausleihe. |

Ich weiß leider nicht, ob sich in Berlin jeder anmelden kann, egal, ob er hier wohnt oder nicht.

Ist zwar schon ein paar Tage alt, aber schlechter dürfte das Angebot inzwischen nicht geworden sein. Einige der erwähnten Bibliotheken bieten auch Fernleihe an. |

schauen wir mal……. O.K. ich dachte, ich fang mal einfach an: John Steinbeck: ergibt einen Treffer! Nein, kein Buch sondern ein gekürztes Hörbuch. öööhhhhh…….. Ich werde mutiger Strugatzkij: ergibt keinen Treffer. hmmm….. Dan Simmons: ergibt einen Treffer. Was will man mehr? Ich mach´s einfacher Chandler: ergibt keinen Treffer! Hmmmm……… O.K. ist vielleicht alles zu "alt" also, was neueres John Scalzi: ergibt keinen Treffer. jetzt bin ich ein bissi enttäuscht. Ich bin jetzt ziemlich sicher, dass Pilcher einige Treffer geben würde, aber, das wage ich nicht zu schreiben. Was liest man denn in dieser "Bibliothek" so? |

Wie kommst Du darauf? Sowohl in der iOS- als auch der Android-Version (beide kostenlos) der Skoobe-App hast du Zugriff auf den Gesamtbestand, den Du natürlich auch durchsuchen kannst. Gibt ohne das Abo von allem halt nur Leseproben ...

Sorry, das mit den Sprachversionen hab ich nicht berücksichtigt.
Ist aber gar keine schlechte Idee englische/angloamerikanische Autoren in ihrer Muttersprache zu lesen. Z.B. bei Sir Terence David John Pratchett kommt der gewaltige Humor und Wortwitz in der deutschen Übersetzung kaum rüber. Ähmm..., mein lieber Medard (ePaper Leser) hab ich dir irgend was getan, sind wir uns schon mal begegnet? Oder willst du nur stänkern? Ich hab eigentlich keine Lust mehr auf Grundsatzdiskussionen eInk versus LCD. Nur soviel: Mein iPad-Ding hat alle meine bisherigen Lesegeräte abgelöst. Zuletzt Kindle-DX und Sony PRS-650. Und ja, ich kenne alle Vorzüge und Nachteile der diversen Geräte, ich bin gewissermaßen Pionier. Angefangen Anfang der 90er auf einem US-Robotics PALM. Damals gab es noch keine eBooks, nur Doc Gonzo. Wir habe uns alles selbst gemacht. Dann kam irgend wann MobiPocket mit nem "Geschäftsmodell". Damals wusstest du noch nicht mal, was ne Windel ist. Grundsätzlich kommt ein richtig eingestelltes Retina, einer Buchseite am nächsten. Auf jeden Fall ist es längen besser als ein eInk, dessen unterirdische Auflösung nur noch durch seinen katastrophalen Kontrast übertroffen wird. WAs bin ich froh, nicht mehr auf dieser mittelalterlichen eInk-Technik lesen zu müssen, die sich seit Jahren nicht wirklich weiterentwickelt. |
