Harvard Classic Volume 8

I just took an interest in the Harvard Classics series, and the ones here are by far the best versions to download.

While I have so far downloaded volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 6, 7, 9 and 10 with no problems, the download link for volume 8 appears to be missing.

Or am I missing something?

I was linking to the Harvard Classic volumes through the wiki page

and found that none of the links for volume 8 had a download and volumes 41 through 51 had no epub link. But there was a link to

which has downloads for all the volumes, in zipped sets of 10, in mobi format, so I was able to get volume 8, and volumes 41 through 51, and convert them all to epub in Calibre.

Is it possible to update the links for volume 8 with downloads, or comments as to where to get the volume?

Is it helpful for me to add volumes 41 through 51 in the epub forum as epubs converted from the mobis?

Please don't add a Calibre conversion from Mobi. That's not hand crafted.

Volume 8 contains some translation by Gilbert Murray (1866-1957), which is not public domain in life+70 countries, so it should not be in our library. Wait until 2028 and we will add back the link.

PS. You'll notice that the thread for volume 8 is in the "ePub Books (offline)" forum, that's the indication. See this thread too.

OK, thanks for the info. I won't bother working on them then if anything I do to them after converting using Calibre is not considered handcrafted.

It appears that all of the downloads have been removed from post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...76#post1606076. Is that because of the volume 8 problem? Will the others be put back?

Yes, it was because of volume 8. The posts will be back in the online section in 2028. Until then, we do not split posts/uploads, but anyone is welcome to re-upload the other volumes.

From the description those are simple conversions from LRF. Doesn't calibre still support LRF? You could just convert LRF to ePub.

Jellby, as i mentioned in my 2nd post, i got the zipped mobi files before you deleted them. Otherwise, thanks for your suggestion.

For the record, I didn't delete the files. They were moved to the offline forum and are not accessible to normal users, but the files still exist and access will be restored when appropriate. There should be no data loss.
