Free/Bargain Horror in August 2014
Deal expired on the ninth of August.
Free from DarkFuse:The Rain Dancers by Greg F. Gifune. The genre is a little ambiguous and may be considered suspense or dark fiction as well. Amazon Link No luck at the Nook, Kobo, or Play stores. Last edited by vivafriend5; 08-25-2014 at 01:10 PM. Reason: Deal expired. |

Edit: Dead
$1.99 from Night Shade Books: The Book of Cthulhu Amazon Link The price has been sporadically fluctuating since the third of August. I bought it and it returned to regular price 12 hours later. It has now returned to $1.99. The price was supposed to be valid at the Nook store, but it is currently over ten dollars. Again, No luck at the Nook, Kobo, or Play stores. Copy-paste from the sci-fi thread so non-sf-reading horror fans don't miss it:
Death Warmed Over, which appears to be 1st in the Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. series by science fiction author Kevin J. Anderson (whom you may remember from quite a few Star Wars tie-in novels as well as frequent features in various periodic sfnal bundle deals), is free courtesy of publisher Kensington, who've previously given us a freebie tie-in novella some years ago. This is probably just until the end of Sunday, Pacific Time, since Kensington usually doesn't extend their freebies past the weekend. Free @ Amazon (available to Canadians). ETA: also @ Google for US persons, according to fellow MR member peachiekene. ETA 2: now also free @ B&N as one of their Free Fridays selections. Single Dead Detective Seeks Clue Ever since the Big Uneasy unleashed vampires, werewolves, and other undead denizens on the world, it's been hell being a detective--especially for zombie P.I. Dan Chambeaux. Taking on the creepiest of cases in the Unnatural Quarter with a human lawyer for a partner and a ghost for a girlfriend, Chambeaux redefines "dead on arrival." But just because he was murdered doesn't mean he'd leave his clients in the lurch. Besides, zombies are so good at lurching. Now he's back from the dead and back in business--with a caseload that's downright unnatural. A resurrected mummy is suing the museum that put him on display. Two witches, victims of a curse gone terribly wrong, seek restitution from a publisher for not using "spell check" on its magical tomes. And he's got to figure out a very personal question--Who killed him? For Dan Chambeaux, it's all in a day's work. (Still, does everybody have to call him "Shamble"?) Funny, fresh, and irresistible, this cadaverous caper puts the P.I. in R.I.P. . ..with a vengeance. Last edited by ATDrake; 08-25-2014 at 02:05 PM. Reason: Another store showed up. |
