Masterpiece Airing Classics on PBS
Masterpiece's classic season premiered on January 4, 2009 featuring three beloved romance tales — Tess of the d'Urbervilles and Wuthering Heights in January and Sense and Sensibility in early February. The Tales of Charles Dickens, a quartet of his greatest works, airs from mid February to early May with new productions of Oliver Twist, Little Dorrit and The Old Curiosity Shop, plus an encore of David Copperfield.
Here's the upcoming schedule (check your local listings for air times): Sense and Sensibility -- February 1 and 8 (two 90-minute episodes) Oliver Twist -- February 15 and 22 (new 3-hour adaptation in two 90-minute episodes) David Copperfield -- March 15 and 22 (3.5-hour encore with Daniel Radcliffe's first performance, episode one 90 minutes and episode two 120 minutes) Little Dorrit -- March 29 through April 26 (new 8-hour mini series in five episodes) The Old Curiosity Shop -- May 3 (one new 90 minute episode) The Masterpiece Guide to Teaching Charles Dickens, featuring provocative discussion questions and interactive activities, is available from the PBS website: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/learn/ Links to the books in MobileRead's library:

Please don't download "The Old Curiosity Shop" just yet. I've just started properly proofreading it, and it's in a horrible state (two of the ten chapters I've so far proof-read have complete pages missing!). I should have a pretty "definitive" version ready in a couple of weeks. The other books on the list are in a pretty reasonable state.
