Calibre turn epub to mobi, can't back to before page

Dear all

I use the kindle paperwhite 3, system version is 5.8.9. The Calibre version is 2.85.1.

The book font is "traditional Chinese".

I use the calibre to turn the epub to mobi, mobi files type choice "old", but the mobi files in kindle sometimes can't back to before page.

I also use the kindlegen v1.1 to turn the epub to mobi, but the mobi files is also can't back to before page.

I use the calibre to turn the epub to mobi, mobi files type choice "both", the mobi files in kindle can not use the "search" function.(I choice the word , and use the kindle search fuction, but the kindle show "There are no results found in this book"). And sometimes can't use the dictionary function.

I also use the kindlegen v2.94 to turn the epub to mobi, but the mobi files can't use the search function.And sometimes can't use the dictionary function.

I use the calibre to turn the epub to AZW3, the AZW3 files can not use the "search" function.(I choice the word , and use the kindle search fuction, but the kindle show "There are no results found in this book"). And sometimes can't use the dictionary function.

I Use pagina EPUB-Checker (epubcheck 4.0.2) to validate my epub files, but the result is "No errors or warnings detected". So, it maybe not my epub problem.

I use another kindle (kindle paperwhite 2), and have the same problem. So it is not the kindle device problem.

Please help me. How to turn the epub to mobi. And this mobi files don't have the "can't back to before page" and "can't use the search function" problem.

Forget Mobi and use Calibre to convert the ePub to KF8.

All PW3 should support the KF8 (AZW3) format. I use it on my PW3 instead of mobi all the time. Note I just convert to AZW3 directly from Epub and don't mess with the mobi output options. If you are trying to use the new mobi or dual mobi on the PW3 then i am not surprised that you are having problems.

Your troubles suggest there is an error in the EPUB code (that even Calibre can't get around).
Validate the EPUB and repair.

Better yet. Return the book for a REFUND. That should get the publishers attention

I think you have a problem with your Kindle.

I do as well. It works very well and I like the drag/drop.

We had no clue that the character set was other than English.

Set a (locale) Country in your MR user profile. That might have given us a clue.

Make sure your EPUB declares the Language, not just the charset

I change the Mobi - opf document <dc:language> from "zh" to "zh-tw", but also have problem.

If Calibre Viewer (or Editor) shows it correctly, then your device is the more likely culprit. Note: Calibre is forgiving of some minor errors, others are not
