calibre-server: Book list templates

It seems that the book list templates only support {field} substitutions, and not the full calibre templating features. For example, {authors} works, but {authors:uppercase()} is left unchanged.

Am I overlooking something?

Yes, it does not support the templating language.

It's not going to happen, I have no interest in implementing the entire template language in javascript. Simply create a custom column based on the template you want, and display that instead of the original column in the server.

I see your point. I'd expected these substitutions to be handled by the back-end server. Not the front-end javascript.

No the template is evaluated client side, remember that the server is designed to work offline as well, so relying on the server to render the template is not really feasible, as it would prevent listing of books in offline mode.
