best option for using B&N gift cards
I received a few B&N gift cards and would like to use them to purchase some ebooks. I don't have a Nook and took the app off my android phone after it ate up a whole bunch of expensive data transfer without my permission. I have the B&N reader running via wine on my linux laptop, but it is from 2012 and I get a 1025 error when I attempt to login.
My main reader is and has been a Kindle. So on occasion I had purchased nook books and then used Calibre to convert them. How can I now buy some Nook books and get the to Calibre for conversion? Dave |

To get them into Calibre, you need to have Nook for PC on your computer to download them. Once there, you can pull them into Calibre as long as you have the de-DRM extensions installed and configured correctly and then convert to whatever format you want.

If you have a Windows 8.1 or 10 PC, your best bet is the Nook app in the Windows Store. I'm not sure if people have been successfully using Nook for PC via wine since B&N changed the keys to no longer be based on your credit card.
