Cover for Story HD

Hi,

I tried the Belkin slim portfolio (clearance at Target) but did not like it. Even though it can hold the Story upright, the back is sticking out when I try to hold it (this is my preferred way of reading).

I had a spare Kindle 3G cover (white) that I bought for $6 on Amazon, and I cut out the slots for the power switch and the USB plug. I also had to cut a couple of things on the front to make the 4-way bar accessible. I painted the white areas with white acrylic paint.

It is not pretty, but should be functional. I will post pics after the crylic paint drys.

I wish I could get Story covers for $4~$6, but the only one I found online are $16+.

Thanks,
James

These covers might interest you. $9.99 shipped w/ the add on light is a pretty good deal and M-Edge says they'll fit the Story...

The Story fits, but the power switch is covered and the lower right corner strap interferes slightly with opening the card slot cover and with plugging in a USB cable. Plugging in a live USB cable can be used to wake up the reader.

The cover seems to be well made, sturdy, and give plenty of protection to the screen.

Because of the location of the power switch, it is going to be difficult to find a securely attached cover that does not interfere with it.

Hi,

Please see the photo of the cover I made. It was made from
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o06_s00_i00
that I originally bought for my Kindle.

I cut the horizontal strap because it interfered with the navi bar.

I had to cut the two vertical straps because they bulged out. The top strap bulges a little and I used a little bit of tape to hold it down.

I cut a hole in the back for the power switch, and finished it with a piece of the white vinyl from the horizontal strap.

I also cut the bottom strap a little bit to expose the USB port.

I later had to put two little spacers with the white vinyl on inside of the cover so the cover does not rub against the navigation bar when it is closed.

Thanks,
James
