Online Novels contains the titles of more than 500 online books written by both published and unpublished authors who have made their work freely available on the internet. The novels listed here are organized by category, with brief descriptions taken from the websites on which they can be found.

Be sure to check out the listings identified in red as "Limited Time." These are books being offered as promotions, often by major publishing houses such as Random House and Harper Collins.

I have no affiliation with this website. Looks interesting, though. Looks like they're supposed to be LEGAL, but let me (or another moderator) know if there's a problem with any of the titles.

It'd be nice if there were some way to search by "limited time," or a complete listing of all the novels (even if it were split over several pages) instead of having to open every category to see them.

Still--yay! Free novels from a variety of sources!

Looks like they're various promos and author giveaways--they're links, not hosted at the online-novels site. I don't think they're likely to have copyright issues. Rather like ebooksjustpublished, only limited to free (rather than DRM-free, although that's also likely), and archived by category rather than blog-format of most-recent-on-top.

Thank you for mentioning Online Novels; yes, to the best of my knowledge, all the books I list are legal. You won't find links to free versions of Harry Potter or The Da Vinci Code, but there are many excellent novels available, nonetheless. The blog is a mix of links to private web sites, publish-on-demand books (e.g. Lulu, whose books I have permission to list), and limited time promotions from major publishing houses.

In answer to Elfwreck's comment about searching for "limited time" novels, in the upper-left-hand corner of the blog there's a "Search Online Novels" text box. If you enter "limited" in the box and click, then all the posts containing this term will be shown - not perfect, but it's easier than scrolling through every page.

Most of the ebooks seem to be downloadable, but there are some read online only ones. I was tempted by one till I realised I could only read it online a chapter at a time.
