Accessing ROOT on 5.11.1 (kRoot)
Will release soon.
It's actually pretty easy to access the root filesystem on the Kindle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIQrxYPfRUk Last edited by khitan; 04-28-2019 at 10:46 AM. |

I am legitimately surprised as to how easy it is to access root.
You just set the location with JavaScript to file:///mnt/us/../.. Code:
window.location = "file:///mnt/us/../.."; |

if you mean an example you can just paste into a script tag or something, that's all you need to do.

Did it work?
If it did, you might want to install aur0raHAX; it's an HTML5 app loader I made that can load apps like this, with a nice-ish UI. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh....php?p=3836223 Signing off; khitan Last edited by khitan; 04-27-2019 at 03:14 PM. |

Yes, but frustrating to use due to font size, lack of ability to go 'back', and I can't seem to bookmark the link either :<
Cool discovery though! |

It works. But it doesn't show all files and folders, for example we can't see etc/uks (where the dev keys are stored).

The browser is sandboxed (and our jail break makes no changes to that sandbox system).
Which limits the actions possible and locations available. |
