You didn't fix the spacing problem when importing italicized words. Will that be fixed in an upcoming version?

And the problem is not with generic italicized words, the file you attached to the issue wraps many, many useless <font> and <span> tags around such words and thus invokes this bug in QDom. More generic instances of that bug have been worked around by injecting a custom XML parser into QDom, but that only goes so far. Since the problem appears only for very specific markup and the fix will require a lot of time and drastic changes to the codebase, it's not something I was willing to implement in the RC phase. But yes, it will be fixed in one of the next releases. Possibly the next one... but maybe not, since it depends on the amount of work required and the time I have available to work on Sigil and this issue in particular. Swapping QDom with Xerces is my biggest concern right now. |

I appreciate your spending the time to look at it.
Is there a way to get cleaner HTML other than having to go through the HTML code manually? |

Should the 0.1.9 version be uninstalled before installing the 0.2? Or will the 0.2 installer take care of it?

Without trying to be nitpicking but shouldn't this be version 1.0.0, there are quite a few people who will not install software that they perceive as beta (0.n.n).
I think that Sigil is stable enough to warrant version 1. I also dislike installing the same version over and over, moving to 1.0.0 would mean that bug fixes could be 1.0.n branch and new features would be in 1.1.n branch. |

Wow, this has probably already been said on the beta threads, but this is so much faster with the tabbed interface over the single file interface of 0.1.9!
As an inexperienced user, as far as coding XHTML is concerned, I mostly use this to do some "clean-up" tweaking of files converted in Calibre. Maybe someday I'll have time to learn more and be more adventurous. But this is a very nice tool! |
