Prime Day Announced for July 2022

This was announced yesterday in a press release about Amazon's first quarter financials. Firm dates were not announced, but it usually occurs between 10 and 17 July. Because of the pandemic, the last two years were held in Oct 2020 and Jun 2021.

This year, Prime Day will take place in July in more than 20 countries. During Amazon’s annual shopping event, Prime members will be able to save on products from national brands and small businesses across every category.

Amazon’s annual Prime Day event is back. The 48-hour event kicks off July 12 at 3 a.m. EDT and runs through July 13 for Prime members in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, the U.K., the U.S., and for the first time ever in Poland and Sweden. Later this summer, Prime Day deals events will be held in India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as in Egypt for the first time.

I guess Amazon's speed-running Prime Day going from one day of sales to an entire month like Black Friday did.

I've never found any deals I wanted on Prime Day. If you aren't looking for an Amazon device, it's deals on a bunch of random crap. My favorite was the 55 gallon drum of 'personal lubricant' for $1,000.

IIRC, the first time they had some deals where you could get bonus Amazon gift card credit for purchasing an Amazon gift card. You could buy a digital one and add it to your own account, making that a deal worth grabbing. That's the only thing I've seen worth bothering with from any of them so far.

You missed out on the most important part: getting new people to sign up for a Prime subscription to get in on the mediocre-at-best garage sale deals, bringing in that sweet, sweet recurring subscription fee money. Some percentage will forget to unsubscribe, or keep it even though they only use it on Prime Day & Black Quarter deals. (Since Black Friday seems to have morphed into all of October through December.)

That's the entire point. They usually get rid of the junk gathering dust in their warehouses on Woot. You can get some good deals there occasionally, but the best ones tend to be limited to Prime customers. Like the Black & Decker cordless drill for $35 I grabbed today. The battery packs cost more than that normally.

I just looked at this now and it's showing June 16th - July 13th. Also you need to click on the button to activate the stamp card before you can start earning stamps.
