why ebook-convert requires x11?
hello,
i am planning to do a bash script for automated download&conversion of some news site. i extracted a few built-in recipes from calibre, but apparently they are not working (either at all or the download list is incomplete) when i'm missing x11 environment (e. g. when they're run from pure text console). can anyone please explain what is the problem? thank you, jose |

Many parts of ebook-convert use Qt which requires X11. You won't get a window that opens but X11 is necessary for those parts to work. Rasterizing SVG images for example is handled by Qt. If you have a headless environment look into xvfb as an alternative to installing a full x-server.
