Remove unused fonts
I have Kindle Paperwhite 3 (2015) with KoReader 2022.08.
The folder `koreader/fonts/droid` contain the font `DroidSansMono.ttf` which I don't need. I use Google Noto for my books. But if I delete the folder `koreader/fonts/droid`, KOReader doesn't start anymore. Why? How to delete useless fonts? |

Wait a minute. If KOReader does not start anymore it means the droid font is definitely NOT useless. You may not need it, but KOReader does need it. Right?

Which fonts does it need and which ones can I delete? It appears in the font list of my books. Maybe the fonts it needs should be separate from user-provided fonts. |

It's an UI font in some specific circumstances (namely, when Noto's insane metrics are problematic when positioning matters).
We don't ship *any* font we don't need. Last edited by NiLuJe; 09-03-2022 at 10:45 AM. |

Still, I think the fonts for internal-use should be kept in another folder than the fonts used to render the books. I don't need this font to render my book, and I would rather not to see it in the list of fonts. |
