The Night Has Seen Your Mind
Cutting across genres, The Night Has Seen Your Mind is a literary fusion of science fiction, existential terror and psychological thriller in the style of the ‘New Weird’.
Tech billionaire, Mattias Goff, has invited five creative professionals – programmer, pianist, writer, actor, and photographer – for a month-long residency at Crystal Falls, his Arctic retreat. Researching brain waves, and especially the enigmatic gamma wave, Goff asks his guests to wear a kind of EEG cap in order to record the electrical activity in their brains while they engage with their respective disciplines. Although they will be paid $5Million each for the experience, they all start their sojourn a little wary – some more than others. Cut off from the outside world in the stunningly beautiful, if stark, Alaskan winter landscape they immerse themselves in their work. Soon, though, reality seems to be shifting. What is Goff really researching? Are his guests only being observed, or manipulated? Last edited by issybird; 02-14-2021 at 05:56 PM. Reason: Image deleted. Please read the guidelines. |

Sex and drugs and mind control ...
ebook options It is winter and the days are fleeting, the nights wide and deep. As the guests immerse themselves in their work, as the temperature outside plummets and the aurora glitter, the five delve ever deeper into their memories, their desires, their fears. And all the while, the vast night intensifies. |

"My first impressions and speculation on how this would all play out were somehow both met and wonderfully thrown out the window. I struggle to list all the things I like without giving away spoilers."

"This book is a unique tale, and I’ve never read anything similar. It’s horror, yes, but also speculative fiction." - Horrified Magazine
"The Night Has Seen Your Mind is a book that reads almost like a fever dream." - Goodreads review "The real star of the book is the stark Arctic landscape. The isolation is important in a story like this, and Kearns does an excellent job of impressing us with Goff’s technological wonder of a compound while making sure we never forget the unforgiving ice and cold just outside the door." - Future Fire Reviews |
