Smile kobo arc launcher not working

Okay so I adore my kobo readers. So I thought I'd treat myself to an Arc, and I have to day I'm in love with it although I seem o be having a few problems.

1st is that I'm unable to pin from my browser to a tapestry I constantly get the message"unfortunately launcher has stopped". Any ideas on that ?

An 2nd is wen I transferred my other books it cause the writing under apps an Widgets to be blocked out with white squares.

I'm using a 32 gb white arc with update installed to version 4.0.4

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I checked through my Android phone which in Essene is the same operating system.
I realised there were options checked that shouldn't have been so make sure the following is unchecked. This also solves the posting issue on Facebook an twitter apps.

>settings
>developer options
>don't keep activities. - unchecked this option.
>reboot your kobo arc.

The second problem was to do with a book I'd sent to my arc, removed the book an rebooted ereader problem solved.

Smile tapestries is back!

Thank you so much you saved me with the tapestry pin problem. I was about to make a factory reset as the official kobo support suggested!!..
And it was as simple as unchecking an option.
I loved tapestries but due to my frustration i was ready to uninstall. You saved my tapestries thanks again!!!

Hi
I am having exactly the same problem also!
I have got both a Kobo Arc & Kobo Touch, If i connect my Arc to my PC & look at Calibre, Calibre does not recognize my Arc, BUT! if i then unplug my Arc & then plug in my Touch, the Touch is recognized immediately.

I have looked in my system settings and can see:

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate
Version: 6 .1 . 7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Other OS Description: Not Available
OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

Any Help in this matter would be very much appreciated.

Hi theres a good possibility its the usb lead thst connects the arc to the computer leaving the device not recognised. I have 1 specific lead to use for this purpose. And it wasnt the lead that came with it. Frustrating I know!
After the last system update that took the os to jellybean 4.1.1, I noticed sometimes the device wouldnt be recognised.

Dazell1927 develops options are near the very bottom of the settings menu.
