Footnotes cut off at paragraph
Hey there!
I really like KOReader, but unfortunately it cuts off footnotes (displayed on the same page as the number) if there is a paragraph within the footnote. Is there anything I can do to alter that? Thanks in advance. |

Example please?
You can go to the footnote text itself (in the end of book), highlight text with a few footnotes, then tap “View HTML”. Please take a photo of that screen - it will show all CSS tags |

I should add that they are displayed correctly at the end of each chapter.

OK, I hope that’s an easy fix.
In a book, go top menu - second tab - Style Tweaks. Now, find the one that says something like “show footnotes in the page” (that makes it work after all) that target regular p.footnote. Now you need to make another css rule that has the same content but targets this new p.foot-ind. You can test this quickly by copying the whole output of the window from original style tweak, then going to second tab - style tweaks - book specific tweaks. Hit apply. After this you add a permanent fix in styletweaks folder with a new css file, which (after a restart of KOReader) you will be able to toggle in other books. |

I am having trouble tweaking this tweak. I cannot find the .css file when I connect the reader to a pc. How do I go about that? Last edited by issybird; 09-14-2024 at 08:56 AM. Reason: Oversized image changed to link. Please read the guidelines about image size before posting again. |

Yep, that’s right. These are hidden.
Can you try copying it in this Window itself? If not, you just need these two lines applied to p.foot-ind. So just go in Book specific tweaks and type this by hand: p.foot-ind { -cr-hint: footnote-inpage; margin: 0 !important; } |

It did not work using a .css file with just this one line. Do I need to incorporate it with the original tweak? Unfortunately I am not fluent in css >.<
.footnote, .footnotes, .fn, .note, .note1, .note2, .note3, .ntb, .ntb-txt, .ntb-txt-j, .przypis, .przypis1, /* Polish footnotes*/ .voetnoten /* Dutch footnotes */ { -cr-hint: footnote-inpage; margin: 0 !important; } |

“Book-specific settings” is not a separate css.
You tried this one? Or Style Tweaks? |

Sorry, my suggestion didn’t work out then
You can create an Issue (Bug report) ticket on GitHub then! https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues If you can, include the ebook there. Or if it is strictly copyright protected get it scrambled first: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=267998 |

What does their HTML look like? It sounds like it's probably an issue that can't be worked around.

The screenshot doesn't seem to be working. But what I meant above is that it sounds like this <p class="foot-ind"> is likely to be an entirely new block element that isn't part of the footnote.
