Stream TV Remotely to Your PPC for Free
A very interesting post in the PocketPC Thoughts forums purports to do just that -- stream tv content from your tuner-equipped desktop PC to your Pocket PC.

What a coincidence, I was looking into that myself last week and thinking of a way how I could stream live-TV on my PDA
At home, I have a digital TV receiver (Nokia Dbox 2) powered with the Linux-based Tuxbox software. This allows me to run a local web server on the receiver, which can then be accessed either locally or remotely through http://ip.of.dbox:8080. I can also directly capture or stream DVB (digitalvideo broadcast) data through another port, 31337. Unfortunately, the streamed data is in MPEG2 format, and I don't know of any media player for Palm OS or Pocket PC that can decode MPEG2 as of right now. I know Picard of BetaPlayer mentioned he was considering MPEG2 support in a future update of BetaPlayer. Until then, I might try out the method Bob has referred to. |

Finland is currently doing mobile TV tests for a selected number of mobile phone customers. Man, now I wish I lived in Finland!
