Josephine Tey [Elizabeth MacKintosh] (1896–1952)
The Daughter of Time (1951) Inspector Grant of Scotland Yard is recovering in hospital after surgery. During his convalescence, he investigates a historical mystery: who really murdered the princes in the tower? Was Richard III really guilty? The novel recently appeared on PG Australia. This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. Thanks Patricia for the Josephine Tey novel. I love British historical novels and I am interested to see what the thinking is on this version of Richard III and did he or didn't he!

New version
I took the original version on holiday with me and discovered a lot of OCR errors that my spell-check had not picked up. Alex Bell was also kind enough to make some suggestions. I have now made about fifty textual corrections. Also, there are long quotations which appear in the paper copy in indented smaller font. I’ve now used the epigraph menu of BD to differentiate them from the main text. There are three short italicised passages within the quotations that could not be recreated with BD, so I have put them in upper case. |
