G'day!
Warm greetings from down under, everyone.
I was directed here to introduce myself, so here goes <standing up and looking earnest>: I am a readaholic and a technology junkie. I am only a relatively recent convertee to e-books and have been using my PDA to read them. I came across this forum while researching an e-book reader device and I must say a big thank you to people here for posting great reviews. I have now taken the plunge and ordered my first dedicated e-book reader (Hanlin V5). Can't wait to try it out! |

Thanks for the welcome, rlparker. I like your user title
And thanks for the warning, pdurrant. Hey, my reading time is sacrosanct! NOTHING is allowed to cut into it, not even checking my list of “favorite sites”. |

Welcome!
They're right, it can get a little addictive. Just a little. Now I'll just sit here and drool at the idea of owning a V5 |

Hi Mneme,
I'm sure you'll love your V5. Since I got mine I've not touched my other readers. It's so easy to flip to the next page. And my overloaded, overheavy handbag loves it too. ;-) |

I clock into MR regularly. I was told that it was addictive, but thought that I could resist. Hah! It's like chocolate; can't get enough of it. Anyway, welcome. |

Thank you all for giving me warm fuzzies ....
And I can easily rationalise spending "quality reading time" on this forum : I've only been here two days, but already picked up lots of interesting and potentially useful information. Even learnt something I can make use of in my professional capacity. So, there.... I'm not time-wasting.... honest! Laine & nomesque, I am soooo looking forward to getting my hands on my new toy! Got a stack of books and e-publications all ready to get into as soon as it arrives. My PDA is nice for what it can do, but reading pdfs on it is just awful. Still, I couldn't live without it. Does anyone still read dead-tree versions of books after having tried an e-book? |

I bought a book I couldn't get as an eversion here in Australia. Got it in June and just couldn't get to starting it. Was able to buy it as e on Tuesday and finished it that same day. I travel by train a lot and I never carry a paperbook. If I didn't have my reader I'd be listening to audiobooks instead. |

Hi Mneme, and welcome to our safe and beautiful haven! You will love it here - and there is no way out, so you simply have no choice!
I will always keep reading p-books once in a while, I know it, but my Sony (Pengy) is rapidly getting to be an extension of my own self... Can't wait to hear about your Hanlin! |
