Amazon announces all-new Fire HD 10 Tablet with Hands-Free Alexa
http://www.aftvnews.com/amazon-annou...ds-free-alexa/
Nice upgrade at a lower price. Pondering 64GB or 32GB. |

I too have the original - it makes a wonderful media streaming device. I load up an SD card with movies.

Just give them ownership of the voice recognition company and almost 5 years and they can voice control their high power tablet(s). We (the Kindle developer's corner) have had speaker independent, large vocabulary, voice recognition for the e-ink Kindle Touch (and the K3) for only 4-1/2 years now: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=209061 Which turned out to not be one of our most popular after market add-ins. . . . . So Amazon will have to turn up the marketing hype if they expect to sell a lot of those devices. Last edited by knc1; 09-20-2017 at 08:16 PM. |

Interest in a do-it-yourself third-party addon says very little about what kind of interest a turn-key solution might generate. DIYers aren't their target demographic. |

Even people who want to be a generic tablet aren't really their target demographic; these are sold first and foremost for consumption of Amazon content.

wonder how this would be for comixologu consumption > The aspect ratio may be kind of odd.

If I remember right the KFHD10 was promoted as a great device for reading comics. My comics reading days are several decade behind me now, but I've found it works very well for that.
