In case you missed it, Matthijs posted on the iRex forum today that they have put up the sources for the 1.6 firmware.

I see two changes relevant for me:

- It seems that file-extensions can now be linked to applications via dr1000.ini (I have not tried this).
- 'custom' toolbar icons are now also supported (the path of the menu-icon is now also used, to determine the path of the toolbar icon).

It seems iRex listens very well to 'third party developers'.
