Introduction by Howard Hibbett (Translation first published 1952) A collection of six masterpieces. ‘In a Grove’ tells the story of a murder from seven viewpoints, including that of the dead man.. Can one ever find the truth? The first two stories were the source for Akira Kurosawa’s film, Rashomon. Contents: In a Grove Rashomon Yam Gruel The Martyr Kesa and Morito The Dragon The source was Black Mask/Munseys, which had a number of formatting errors (which I have tried to correct). There is also a copy at Manybooks. This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
