After kindle for PC was updated today, can't remove DRM.

I let kindle for pc update itself, then downloaded one ebook from the ones i bought on the windows app. Then i picked up the file and transferred it to calibre. It showed as kfx-zip. I have the latest alpha nodrm plugin 10.0.9. I run calibre 7.16.0 on windows 11. I also have kfx input 2.7. I don't know if you have the same issue, the update was made in the last hours.
Also, from my contents and devices, it's still possible to download azw3. Just not from kindle for pc. Here's the normal log:

One suggestion would be to update the KFX Input plugin to the latest version which is 2.15 as I recall.

As for the DeDRM plugin, did you mean the latest autorelease version of NoDRM's code? If not, try downloading the version from the Automatic alpha release with latest changes page.

Might be worth uninstalling the Kindle app and reinstalling the latest from Amazon's website (even if the versions look the same).

I got a similar error recently after an automatic update.

I then uninstalled the Kindle App and reinstalled an older version and deleted the book and it imported correctly.

Then just to be sure it wasn't a glitch, I uninstalled the old version and installed the latest version (KindleForPC-installer-2.4.70904.exe) and to my surprise it worked.

It could have been a glitch, or it could be something went wrong with the automatic update and uninstalling and re-installing fixed it.

Kindle for PC app updated to 2.4.1 (70946), though 'Automatically install updates' is not (and was not) enabled. DRM removal is no longer working.

Re-installed 2.4.70904, working as before.

Presumably on next launch, it'll try to update again.

I figure I can probably unplug the Ethernet cable whenever I need to re-launch to prevent this, but we'll see. I usually leave the system running and never quit Kindle app.

If you have the install file for the previous KindleforPC, you can just install it over 2.4.1. It's what I used to to with 1.17 if it got updated.

Can you revert to 2.4.0? When I manually check for an update on several Amazon sites, they are still offering 2.4.0 (70904) as the download.

Edit: I was looking in the Dealing with Kindle ebooks in calibre thread and @hurr88icane posted about an update to 2.4.1 overriding the do not automatically update setting. They were able to uninstall the update and re-install v2.4.0 and things appear to be be happy again.

Are you sure that works with newer app? Well, I'll try it if and when I need to. Certainly more convenient than uninstalling and re-registering every time it updates.

I will make sure I have 2.4.0 installer handy...

It worked for 1.17 when I ran that. Also someone else in another thread reported going back to 2.4.0 works.
