(October 12, 1844: Albany, NY ~ March 17, 1933: Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

King, who was credited with seventy years of active military service, was the only soldier in American history to serve in five American wars: The Civil War, Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, Phillipine Insurrection and World War I.

Novelist:Author of over 60 books and hundreds of articles and short stories

Historian:His novels, although they all follow virtually the same plot, draw from personal experience and are exciting narratives full of accurate, detailed descriptions of army life and Indian wars in the American West.

King was one of the biggest role models of ERB.
