I assume B&N will be grateful that you've made their products available to people with platforms they don't support and made the products more valuable since customers don't have to hope B&N actually keeps up support for one particular scheme or another in order to be able to keep reading what they've bought.

I have never bothered to download the B&N ebook software. There's one DRM that I've never bothered learning about, it's eReader. So now they are transitioning to ePub, I finally created an account with them. All that because i♥cabbages is awesome.
