Yikes: "this article was downloaded by calibre" after every article
All of a sudden--well more precisely: after installing 9.40--the Economist recipe produces "this article was downloaded by calibre" + URL after each and every article.
I have searched the forum and there is some hinting about Kindle and / or touch "profiles" which do or don't add this behaviour. But I never consciously did do anything about profiles, so I wouldn't know where to change anything. Otoh this would mean there is no use changing recipes individually. Any ideas what I should do, please? Hendrik |

Preferences->Common Options->Page Setup change the output profile to kindle.

Thank you, Kovid.
As I didn't have this "problem" (I assume some find the URL helpful) before the update, I gather calibre forgot my Kindle affiliation in the process. Hendrik |

Yikes again ...
After I have switched to a Sony T2 I found the reading of magazines was really lacking. As Kovid recommended here I changed common options/ page setup to Kindle Paperwhite (although I am using a Sony), though of course output option is Epub. Now I'm getting the cursed footnote "this article was downloaded by calibre" again. What to do now? Any ideas? I don't get this. Hendrik |

Make your output format MOBI or AZW3 and your output profile Kindle.

But I can't read Mobi or AZW3 on a Sony, can I.
Is there an explanation somewhere, which you could link to, of the difference/ different consequences of output format versus output profile? Thanks. |

That link can only be removed on kindles. If you want to read with EPUB then you have to live with the link.

The details as to why I'm unfamiliar with, but this is definitely a four plus year old feature.
The last time I used News Recipes was with my Sony PRS-950 and Sony PRS-505 and the link being referred to never looked out of place to me. |

Please don't post answers to ancient threads. After nearly two years there isn't the slightest chance the original questioner is remotely interested. There's a valid reason that the site warns you that you're replying to an old thread; please don't ignore these warnings.
