Amazon Kindle mbpV2 files
I have been using 1.17 to download Amazon books to convert in Calibre, but I now get an error message stating that it cannot download and needs the latest PC Kindle app.
The books seem to be in an mbpV2 format, and I've searched for help on how to use Calibre with this format but cannot find anything. Sorry if it's been posted about before, but is there a link someone can show me to help? |

I've also got the KFX plugin, but that doesn't import the ebook properly |

Did you install the app from the app store? If so, uninstall it and follow the instructions in the post I linked to.

I'm using 2.3.5 now, but I used 1.17 for a long time and have hundreds of mbpv2 files, but they are all small files (less than 1K and possibly just metadata). I've only checked a few but the real book is a file with the same name but with the extension .azw

For what it may be worth, the .mbpv2 file is a metadata file.

The Dealing with Kindle ebooks in calibre thread linked to by Sirtel has the information that you need. Pay special attention to the version of the DRM removal tools that is required. |

After downloading the book and looking at where it stores the books all I get is this.
Previous to the update of Kindle for PC I did get the .azw files |

That is probably the list of Your digital content at Amazon.
You probably need to use the apps bookshelf to fetch the actual book. (why burn bandwidth up front. Just show them the list ) |

I am now totally confused.
I've just downloaded a free book to test and if I open where the books are stored under "My Kindle Content" I get the list as shown. I've just done a search for .azw in explorer and it shows this, but I cannot see it under file explorer if I open My Kindle Content |

OK, ignore the last post, it's now saved in totally separate folders.

Now I know they are in their own folders I've found the .azw file.
Now I've got the problem that I cannot convert to KEPUB because of the DRM. If I've purchased the book and want to read it as KEPUB I should be allowed to convert it. Probably the last book I am going to purchase from Amazon. |
