Victoria I hope you are watching. This is the really exciting part as the books jostle each other to get ahead!

Yes, now the fun begins! Watching to see if our favourites get across the line in front.
I ended up voting for 5 books this time. Could have been one more, except that the book was more than I wanted to pay, and not available in eBook format at the library. OTOH, I've either already scored, or have on a short hold, all the rest of the books I voted for, except Fadeout, which I got very inexpensively last year. |

I am, thanks. I can’t believe how the many of the horses have switched places from last evening! I almost went off and grabbed the ringer. I guess it isn’t over until it’s over.

Too true, Victoria! Though I admit, I start grabbing the top three or four from the BC Library Overdrive site just as soon as I can, since the wait can be a bit for some of them.
This time it's looking like we might be reading some Dickens. It's been a while, for me, though I've got one lined up on my Audible subscription that I haven't gotten to yet. Guess I get to add another. |

I haven’t read Dickens since I was in school, and that was a very long time ago So I’m kinda rooting for it. But the others in contention sound interesting too.

It's Drood in a squeaker. The NLBC's very own solve-it-ourselves mystery!
The discussion thread. See you March 15! |

I've been resolving every year since the dinosaurs to read all of Dickens; I read/reread several of the biggies a couple of years back, then backburnered Dickens again. Drood is not one that was high on my list, because of its incompleteness, but it may get me back in Dickens mode again.
I'm undecided between the David Timson audiobook, which my library has, and the David Thorn version, which I have. |

I think we should have quite a lively discussion deciding what really happened. I shall be reading rather than listening.

I’m finding the Librivox recording quite good. The read-along text also has the atmospheric illustrations.
