Unhappy removing DRM
I have several books in Calibre which were imported with DRM at some point in the past. I am at a loss as to how to remove the DRM without buying them again from Amazon. Is it possible to remove DRM from books already in Calibre? How?

Move the book Out of Calibre (save to disc)
Then import them. That should do it.

The removal is only done during ADD

That's presuming Calibre still has the same key those books need for decrypting them - the serial number of the device they were originally downloaded for, the same version of the Kindle app installed, or whatever method was used to get the files initially.

If not, couldn't they be re-downloaded from the OP's Amazon account?

If you bought them previously from Amazon they should be associated with your account and you can download them again for import into calibre. If you didn’t get them from Amazon originally then knowing where they came from is important to understanding what sort of DRM them might have.
