Cape Gloucester: The Green Inferno is a commemorative pamphlet on the US Marine Corps conquest of New Britain in the World War II.

The Green Inferno refers not to fire, but endless choking vegetation and mud. The illustrations show the difficulties faced by the Marines in capturing the island and its strategic airbase.
