calibre creates Collections in my Sony Reader
I am a new caliber user. I have found that when I transfer books to my Sony Reader T2 many of the books are put into "collections" that I did not create. The collections seem to be in some way related to the tags. Any advice on how to stop this from happening?
Many thanks. |

Calibre creates collections in your reader for everything you put in the Series and Labels fields in your books' metadata. Sometimes you don't even need to add anything, as most books include tags in their metadata that calibre copies to these fields.
So, after adding a book to the calibre library, right click on it and select "edit metadata". The metadata editor dialog will show up. Delete all series and labels information you don't want to be transformed in collections in your reader and only after that transfer your book to the reader. In case you have already transferred the book to your reader, open calibre with your reader unplugged, modify metadata as desired and then plug your reader so that collection information is updated. Hope this helps... |

Clear this box: (see screenshot)
When your device is plugged in, next to "Library" will appear your "device", click the dropdown next to it and "customize your device". |

Ten years late, but thank you for this. Almost ten years now I've been manually culling the collections being added to my Sony via 'tags', and I finally found how to make that stop happening.

It really is time for you to get rid of your mirror and get a real Reader. The 600 is a terrible screen.

I'm not terrible. It's the 600 screen that's terrible. |
