Change catalog scheme

I have the default catalog org scheme of
{authors} / {title} / {title} - {authors}

I'd like to make it
{authors} / {title} / {authors} - {title}

But doing so doesn't change the existing catalog. It doesn't change when I import the old structure into a new catalog with the new structure.

For now, I'm gonna leave it alone. I don't want BOTH structures.

Does anyone know how to reorganize an existing library.

By the way, Calibre authors: love the program. If you're not already doing so, you should think of this as iTunes for books. Look at the options in iTunes (such as reorganizing the library structure) for insight in how to do the same in Calibre. When in doubt, the iTunes interface probably does whatever it is right.

Every week you get this same question. By yet another new calibre user.
Wouldn't it be better if someone just made a sticky that it can't be done.
And combine all the many thread that explain why they want it to and why
others don't want it to.

It's already in the FAQ. If people aren't going to read that, they're not going to read a sticky either.

Then maybe move it outside FAQ to a separate topic? Since it's very popular, it'd quite catch the attention of new users if stickied at the top.

Something like 'Changing calibre's catalog structure' would make some of them read it before asking I think.

Or you can make it customizable and end all of this questions
