Calibre 7.19.0 has crashed on Windows 10 and won't restart.
Calibre crashed on me today and won't restart. I rebooted to no avail. I downloaded the installation file and tried to repair Calibre. That didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled Calibre 7.19.0 and no luck. Any suggestions would be great.

I tried calibre-debug -g and got this response.

Double check the plugin name with:
calibre-customize --list-plugins If you still can't disable the plugin with the correct name, try uninstalling it with: calibre-customize --remove-plugin <correct plugin name> |

This isnt plugin related, according to that debug log something is interfering with calibre before it even gets to the stage of creating its UI long before plugins are even loaded. I am very surprised that this would occur in Safe mode as this is almost certainly some program on the computer interfering with calibre. The log indicates the QApplication object was constructed and then it has hung.
Try temporarily disabling the antivirus and also trya clean reinstall that is un-install, delete c:\program files\calibre2, then re-install (this wont affect your books/settings) |

I have the same issue : Calibre won't launch anymore (it used to work flawlessly).
I tried to uninstall, reboot, install -> same issue. I did it the same loop again with version 7.17 and 7.14 -> same issue. Unfortunately I can't test safe mode as it is a remote computer. I don't have AV except the one by default provided by Windows. Here is my log : calibre 7.19 embedded-python: True Windows-10-10.0.22631-SP0 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '10', '10.0.22631') Python 3.11.5 Windows: ('10', '10.0.22631', 'SP0', 'Multiprocessor Free') Interface language: None EXE path: C:\Program Files\Calibre2\calibre-debug.exe Successfully initialized third party plugins: Amazon.com Multiple Countries (1, 0, 0) && Babelio_db (0, 8, 6) && BookFusion Plugin (0, 8, 1) && Find Duplicates (1, 10, 9) && Goodreads (1, 8, 1) && Job Spy (1, 0, 239) && Quality Check (1, 13, 10) |
