Question K2i - Storage space question

I just found this and think my kindle might have some problem.
From the spec, K2i should have the usable space around 1.4GB
I checked from my computer - Found the total space ~1.5GB (pic 1.jpg)
However, when go in the kindle drive and check by total size - it shows the total size ~1.1GB (pic 2.jpg).

I'm wondering where is 0.4GB missing? Is this the problem?

Do you have Windows Explorer set to show hidden and system files? I suspect that your missing 0.4GB are the files used by the system, which will predominantly be the index files for your books.

Yes, I tried that but it shows the same.

If 0.4GB will be for index file, it seems to be very big because I only have 52 items in total.

Do you see the similar thing on your kindle?

It would be really helpful if I can do something to use this space as it means space increase by 40%

Index files are typically 40% the size of the corresponding book.
